The Instagram proof! Behold, some Bucket List highlights from my last month in the D.C. area:
My final cup of coffee at Northside Social (one of hundreds, mind you). And hey – they [almost] know me!
An afternoon stroll in the National Portrait Gallery and American Museum of Art. Huzzah for culture!
NATS GAME (And the first time I got to see President Taft race around the bases!)
#nattitude
A walk down King Street – complete with a visit to the incomparable Fibre Space knitting store
Emily and I celebrated our (20th-ish) Friendaversary by watching Book of Mormon at the Kennedy Center and taking these awesome pictures
Sorry Mr. Jefferson, but my Presidential loyalties have temporarily shifted (not really, though)
Went to Paradise Springs Winery with my nerdtastic book club
The Arlington Farmers Market! So many beautiful flowers!
My boss took me out to a farewell dinner at Jaleo. TAPAS! Oh. My. Gosh. Favorite D.C. Restaurant. Hands down. Pictured above is my gin and tonic sorbet. That’s right. Gin and tonic SORBET.
Speaking of awesome food, I celebrated my last Sunday in Arlington by going to mass with some good friends then partaking in the above brunch at Eventide. Six thumbs up.
A visit to the Clifton Wine Shop!
Emily and I went antiquing in Old Town Clifton and drooled over all the lovely things. I WANT ALL THE THINGS.
We also attempted to take cool selfies in a vintage mirror…then realized that “cool selfie” is, in itself, an oxymoron of sorts. Lesson learned.
Each week, a few friends from college get together and cook a “family dinner.” This was my last one (WAAAAAA) – roasted veggie pizza and kale salad cooked with extra love and served with a large glass of Pimm’s (which we now call Wimbledon Juice)
…and it wouldn’t be “family dinner” without Cards Against Humanity!
Said goodbye to the Georgetown Waterfront. This is my friend, Mike, running through the fountain with all the little children. Silly, I know, but this was smack dab in the middle of the crazy heat wave…desperate time, you know.
This is a completely random image from our evening of food, wine and music at Wolf Trap. Emily wearing the cow hat might’ve been one of the highlights. SO QUIRKY, Em! Zooey Deschanel would’ve been jealous, I think.
For the record, I did sneak some practical things into my last month. You know, like the physical complications of moving….yeah. Glad that’s over.
And of course, Emily and I took some sad face pictures at various nostalgic childhood landmarks. You know, just to rub some salt into the wound. Whatever.
